In 1944 during the battle of Arnhem, retreating British paratroopers and a Waffen SS patrol stopped fighting in an abandoned home in the most intense battle zone and called PAX, a moment of truce, exchanging whisky and chocolate.

22nd October 1944 in pursuit of the liberation of ‘s-Hertogenbosch the warrior code of the 53rd Welsh Infantry Division was shared shoulder to shoulder with Dutch civilians and members of the resistance.

PAX44 Whisky & Chocolate
Cocoa extract, when combined with vanillin and Port wine essence, bonds with the harsh congeners in a wide range of whiskies. Bitter notes are masked by the bonding, revealing desirable whisky notes and an exceptionally smooth taste, mature beyond its years.
Chocolate notes in a whisky profile have traditionally been curated by the selection of mash or finishing in casks, particularly Port, Oloroso and re-charred bourbon.
